About Me...
We are so much more than the sum of our parts...We all have a story... Here is a part of mine...All my life I have been active. It was a part of my childhood, I grew up in a family that loved to camp, dirtbike, and all around get dirty. I learned to ski at such a young age, that I don't remember learning, the same with skating. I tried gymnastics, volleyball, basketball, and played most sports with some success. I was a figure skater for over 10 years, and then played hockey for a few years. I also started modelling at a young age, I never pursued it very far, I think because I lacked the confidence. I always had the height and seemed to be a natural fit.As I entered into my teen years I started to battle my weight. I remember weight training in high school, but it was never something I stuck with. I knew what it took to stay thin, and would workout as needed when I was focused on a goal. After high school though, as I entered in to university and then college my weight skyrocketed. I look back on pictures and am shocked and appalled at what I see. I went to college and received my diploma in acting. From there I moved to Vancouver. I wanted to become an actor. I never really tried. No, not really, I never tried. I just assumed that no one would look past my outside to see my talent, and I was horrified by how I looked. While I was in Vancouver I discovered a body transformation challenge. It was put on by Bodies 'N Motion, and it was 16 weeks long. As soon as I saw the ad for it, I knew. I knew I had to do it!! I probably would have never discovered the world of bodybuilding, fitness and figure if I hadn't. For this challenge my trainer was Ocean Bloom. I was in awe of her, her physique, and learning about how she competed and what it entailed. It's what planted the bug in me. Not long after I finished the challenge I moved back to Calgary. I had already experienced such great changes in my physique and had started to feel more confident, that once I moved back to Calgary I decided that I needed to do a figure show! I was so pumped. I spent weeks researching trainers in the Calgary area. I finally discovered Martha Lombardo-Grant, IFBB Fitness and Figure Pro who had over 20 years experience in the industry. I started training with her in 2006 and I have NEVER looked back!My first show was the ABBA Provincials Figure Competition in 2006, I lost over 60lbs in 5 months to step on that stage. It was an amazing experience. I did not have near the muscularity to be a fierce contender, but it was a learning experience. I knew how I had to change, and where I had to go from there. I spent 2007 building my physique and then in 2008 I competed in the Bikini Universe competition in Miami, FL, followed by the FAME Fitness model Competition here in Calgary. Such an amazing season, I learnt what my flaws were, what I had to work on, and where I had to go. Due to financial and LIFE difficulties I haven't competed in 2009, but I'm planning a HUGE 2010. I have learnt a lot this past year. It's been hard, and there have been times that I want nothing more to give up, but how you persevere is what shapes you as a person. I have renewed my focus and will succeed as a competitor, model and actor. Soon you will be seeing me EVERYWHERE!!!
